A Queen Anne West Country silver Trefid Teaspoon, by Thomas Foote, hallmarked Exeter, 1910, with worn beaded rat tail reverse, the terminal with engraved initials and dated, 1710, 5½in (14cm) long, together with another small silver trefid teaspoon, c.1690's, bearing the 'Borough of Plymouth' town mark used by Henry Muston during this period, two other marks undecipherable 4¼in (10.8cm) long, approx total weight 0.85ozt (2)
Provenance: from The Charles C Brian Collection. Mr Charles Brian was a born in Plymouth in 1916; he trained as a solicitor and joined his family law practice, C G Brian & Sons. He had a great love of Plymouth and Devon, and amassed a collection of Exeter and Plymouth silver. His particular interest was his collection of early West Country spoons.
